The project is still in its infancy as its Letter of Intent is still being crafted and will soon be reviewed by the Burning Man Art team.
The image is a preliminary sketch that represent the art installation.
About the Project
Oh, Honey! is a 16-foot cylindrical beehive made of stacked hexagonal cells, alive with art and light. Big sculptures of bees will tend to their home and welcome visitors.
Inside, each cell’s wall will showcase a unique artwork or installation created by a various artist, transforming every cell into a small art portal where visitors can explore, rest, reflect, and connect.
Together, these artworks form a single collaborative hive…a living gallery of what it means to be human.
INTERACTION
From the outside, a large sign and bee sculptures invite citizens of BRC to explore and play. Visitors can admire, rest, and safely climb the hive. Like a gallery, each cell reveals a unique artwork or installation.
The core becomes a luminous gathering space: part gallery, part sanctuary, part arena…opening opportunities for expression.
At night, the lights animate the hive. It’s a space for reflection, connection, and spontaneous performances…a living organism shaped by human touch.
The image is a preliminary 3D model of the main structure.
PHILOSOPHY
Oh, Honey! celebrates art as a collective act, the same way bees build their hive through shared purpose and instinct. In a world often divided, this project reminds us that collaboration is the only way forward.
Each cell is a small world imagined by various artists, yet together they form something greater: a monument to creativity. The bees circling the structure mirror us, the workers, dreamers, and makers who keep ideas alive.
The hive stands as a metaphor for both creation and community: a quiet reminder that expression, like nature, is fragile and worth protecting. Bees, endangered yet essential, echo this call for environmental care and awareness.
Oh, Honey! is a testament to what we can build together: a space shaped by creativity, care, and the quiet wisdom of nature. It stands for collaboration, reflection, and the deep, enduring connection between art, community, and the ecosystems that sustain us as humans.
